Frank M. Rarig papers, 1901-1966. <bulk 1948-1966>

The bulk of the collection dates from Rarig's retirement, and includes extensive correspondence with many of his former students, colleagues, and family members, including Bower Aly, Ralph Dennis, Howard Gilkinson, Hubert H. Humphrey, Glenn Merry, and Wayne Morse. Also included are memorabilia and correspondence from Rarig's sabbatical year (1936/37) in England, retirement, death, records on his Minneapolis home and Wisconsin farm, 50 heavily annotated books, and a collection of postcards.

Frank M. Rarig was born in Kansas, started college at Kansas Wesleyan but finished his B.A. and M.A. at Northwestern University.
